The Word of God be replaced? Nah, Just as the people would actually try to replace God with little idols, they (or we) will be unable to replace God.

The Word of God is so powerful, I Love it!
this verse confims what I am trying to say,

Isaiah 55:10
“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
[11] So is the Word that goes from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Yeah, the quotes, one-liners, and Christian sayings can get a little old. But it’s all good.

Anyway you sound a lot like me a couple years ago. I would have said something to the same effect—that we should focus more on the Word. Trouble is, try talking to someone about the Word when they don’t understand it, nor want to. They want to see proof. Not televangelist healing people proof, but genuine examples of God’s work, rather than words on a page.

I understand what you’re trying to say, but in my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with sharing, dwelling, or talking about testimonies of God’s work in our lives. It’s a good thing. On a believer-to-believer level it shows us how awesome God is, and gives us chances to praise God and rejoice.

On a believer-to-the-world level, it’s cool, because that’s what the world wants to see. They want to see something different, a change, some evidence of God’s work. In the Bible, people always asked for a sign.

When God is gracious enough do something awesome in our lives, we should dwell on it, because it’s good for us spiritually, and a great witnessing tool.

But what I’m trying to say is that, we as Christians tend to hate when people make God look small and insignifigant, and rightly so, but we don’t stand up to people who make God their own version of signifigant. Just because something looks good to us, that doesn’t mean it is God’s will, and that He is just aching to do it.

If all of the people in the world who are blind are still blind even after we proclaim God as a healer of the blind, that doesn’t mean God is somehow weak. It is not His will. Anything apart from His will would be Him lowering Himself to our own expectations of what would make a great and remarkable God.
