In my post I do my best to strengthen and encourage leaders, but most of all bring Glory to God.
This post may come across to you as less than profound. And thats okay, but as my heart wells up to write- typing overflows.

I dont know if you keep a spiritual journal, a humbled and vulnerable personal assesment of growth and thoughts and weaknesses.  But if you dont, I would encourage you to do so. Its been one of the greatest tool in building upon the foundation of my faith.

I often times read it and think “Wow, I was so ignorant back then…. look how much God has shown me!” It’s actually very amusing to see your own stupidity, and very exciting to see your growth since. Its also so encouraging knowing how much you will learn in the next year.

But today, instead of seeing how I’ve grown. Ive seen how I’ve shrank.
My words of conviction and steadfastness struck a huge blow of humility as I realized how far I’ve fallen.

Im a sinner. And its so wonderful to think of, knowing that I’m saved by grace.
That my faults are not my folly but my chance to repent and fall back to dependence on God.

And once again I am excited that God is setting me back on track, and once again I’m excited to see whats instore.

Soli deo Gracia

In the beautiful words of Proverbs:
” When words are many, sin is not absent,
but he who holds his tongue is wise.”

And though my words are not going to be many, they are not far from sin and not close to wisdom:
“I would love to watch Planned Parenthood crumble into ash.”
…for accumulating reasons.

And though I wont actually set it on fire, I can help Defund it.
And you can too.

Over 265 MILLION of taxpayers dollars goes to support Planned Parenthood. Which means about 1/3 of their budget used for abortion comes out of our pocket.

As American citizens its not only our right but responsibility to stand up for what we believe in.

If you want to help defund Planned Parenthood go to:

http://www.aclj.org/ for the American Center for Law and Justice.

All you have to do is add your name to a petition. I did and it only takes a couple seconds.

Practice your freedom of speech for the life of a child that may never have the chance.

I unwrap Times and Delights I’ve held tenderly in my heart

And feel tears well up between the deep beatings of my chest.

Oh how beautiful life is, and how easily now slides into yesterday

And memories are laid to rest.

What I would do to be able to step through pasts frame

And tell you all I loved you and I still do

To sit amongst your company once more

Until the black sky forgets it’s blue.

It will never be the same.

Yesterday only introduces tomorrow and never will they collide

It will never be the same, and neither will I.

I rewrap Times I took for granted, in fear of evanescence

And place them back into my heart, my love, my quintessence.

The sun is rising and there is still more to behold and to be held.

One of my favorite verses is this:

Psalm 84:11:
 “ For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold
   from those who walk uprightly.”

How can that be?

As I sit at my computer typing I notice the thin band of silver around my finger isn’t studded with a chunk of diamond. Or if I gaze out my window, the oak trees block my view of what could be the ocean. I am not a superior athlete or talented composer. I can’t organize things properly for the life of me, and I would love to be able to cook a 5 star meal.

All of the above are good things. Good things that I don’t have. Am I misreading this verse or this a phony as the promise to drop 4 dress sizes in 2 days? Neither.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope

The truth of the matter is that God withholds no good thing to those who walk according to the plan He has for them.  Would I enjoy being able to hit a ball out of the park? Sure. But if God were to shower me with an unlimited supply of gifts my mortal body couldn’t handle it. I would run around trying to satisfy my hearts desires when God created me for one thing. Therefore, the things that we may see as “good,” God may choose too withhold from us in order to achieve a greater good for our lives and the plan that He has for us.

In the same way God often gives us times of testing and persecution.

James 1:2-5:
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

So in the terms of holding and withholding… Does God withhold desired relationships from us?
In my last written entry I wrote about the Relational Trinity; how we as human beings require a relationship with God, family, and community to ultimately bring Him glory and be satisfied in Him.
And though I do believe that believers need these relationships in order to function healthfully within the body of Christ, I also think that God withholds certain relationships for our good.

Sometimes a relationship is withheld for a certain amount of time to fulfill Gods timing. This was the case with Abraham and Sarah and their promise for a child. God withheld the birth of their son for many years and until they were old in age. But Gods promise was fulfilled While other times God may withhold it completely. We see this with Paul in the book of Romans as he displays his conviction to not be wed to a woman but to the mission of the Gospel.

I know in my own life I have often questioned God on why he would not supply me with a Godly friendship, one that would support me emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. But He is working His plan out according to His timing and my good. God is faithful.

I don’t know where you may be in life: Maybe your morning the loss of a loved one or morning a love that was lost. You may wish you had children, a spouse, a best friend.

But may I challenge you to continue to remember and believe that God withholds no good thing from those whose walk is blameless. If you continue to peruse a relationship with Him He will shower you with undeserved grace.

Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The verse above, Jeremiah 29:11, goes on to say this in verses 12-13

“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes…”

Though God may with hold certain relationships for our good, the promise to believers is that the relationship between us and God is never withheld. We shall find him when we seek him with all our hearts.

If you are wasting time, pining away for a relationship that seems out of reach. Remember that God is never out of reach, because he withholds no good thing from us when we follow Him.

I find it funny that the most views I’ve had in one day was on Valentines day. It makes me wonder how many lonely saps sat around and plunked on the computer all day.

But on this Holiday I hope you stop to remember the true of Easter: The Gospel of Christ

Enjoy (and commenting is nice too.):

Now I’m going to get on with my Celebration of thanksgiving to Christ knowing that because of his gift to humanity, I am set free.

Its not true because I believe it. I believe it because its true.

Blessed Easter,

Its funny how things often come in threes.
In a competition, only the 1st 2nd or 3rd receive recognition.
Next time you go to eat you will most likely have 3 pieces of silverware.
And if your eating on a Styrofoam plate, chances are its divided into three parts.
Even the Holy trinity of Father Son, and Spirit.
Christ was 33 when he died and 3 days later he rose again.

But is  there a Trinity in relationships?

I began to think about it when I was witnessing to my friend who was a Mormon. Mormons preach a similar but separate gospel than “main stream” Christianity. Therefore, by not coinciding with the bible, its a false Gospel. But the more and  more I looked into what he believed, the more I realized how difficult it would be for him to segregate from his church, simply based on the relationships established. If you know anything about Mormons they have a very strong (not to mention large) family, and they’re very connected to their church.
So for a Morman to become a Christian, they would ultimately have to turn their back on their God, their family, and their Community.
Which is absolutely ingeniously deceptive in a time where so many religious involvements are based on comfort and emotions.

But I began to realize more and more that God has given these 3 relationship groups as a way to glorify and grow closer to him.

So there it is:
1) God
2) Family
3) Community

God because I believe  that all creation longs for their creator.
Family, because they are ultimately apart of you. To be betrayed by your own blood line is devastating. While having a since of trust and security can draw out the course of your life.
Community, because its those that you have chosen to surround yourself with. They are the ones to encourage or discourage.

Its a nice concept. But what can you get our of it?

First of all. God is number one for a reason. In relationships, God should be your very first priority.
Secondly, all your relationships should point back to number one.
Do your family and friends encourage you and strengthen you in your walk with God and inspire you to live life for Christ.?
In turn, are you a family member or friend who is supporting those around you in the same way?

Though there are levels of importance, they ultimatly should check and balance one another.

When these relationships are in order: its incredible how much of a blessing it is!! God wants to establish healthy relationships in your life that will point you back to him.

So don’t think you can go without church. If you lack a since of community that will strengthen your walk with God, it will not only weaken you and your other relationships, but it will leave you unsatisfied.

I write this, because this morning I just ran a 5k with my church. And it may have been the endorphins, but I cant tell you how joyous I am when I think about the fellowship that I have with my church. Its something that I wouldn’t want any Christian to miss out on. (or any person for that matter!)

The bible says that “ the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (hebrews 4:12)”

So here are some verses that have been slicing me to death!

Ephesians 4:14-16: Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

1 Cor. 8:1-3 “…. We know that we all possess knowledge.[a] Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. But the man who loves God is known by God. “ Hoo ray for repentance through Gods strength!

The bible says we should evaluate ourselves(but not judge.)
So what are some of your “Ugh!”verses? haha.

Be encouraged. Phillipians 4:13
